Who We Serve

Community Health Centers have been an integral part of the health care landscape in Mississippi for over 50 years. Health care and community leaders and a Mississippi Delta community played a pivotal role in the health center movement by opening the first rural federally funded community health center in the country in Mound Bayou.

From humble beginnings, the country has more than 1400 Community Health Centers and serve more than 30 million patients. Access to quality health care for everyone is central to the mission of every Community Health Center.

In Mississippi, federal qualified community health centers have a presence in 73 of Mississippi’s 82 counties.
